This image captures the dramatic, shifting atmosphere of the Quindío region in Colombia. Taken on my trusted Pentax ME Super using film that had been expired for over 20 years, the photograph is a study in unpredictable beauty.

The film's age has shifted the colours, bathing the misty mountains and cloud formations in cyan and soft pink hues. The scattered red spots across the sky are not flaws, but unique chemical reactions from the expired film, creating a constellation of "stars" that only exist in this single frame. This piece is part of my "If Clouds Were Mountains" process, where the textures of the analogue photograph are explored and translated.

In addition to the images I also create large textile works based on the clouds and the landscape, head on over to 'If Clouds Were Mountains' page to learn more.

This image was taken using a Pentax ME Super using expired 35mm colour film from 2006

The image was taken on top of an apartment building in Armenia capital of the Quindío region in Colombia in the Summer of 2025
