This photograph captures chess match between two competitive players during a sweltering summer holiday, cooled only by a nearby bucket of beer. It is a featured piece in my series, 'When Things Go Wrong', a collection that reflects on nearly 20 years of my journey with film photography. The work celebrates the unpredictable and wonderful mistakes that only analogue cameras and film can create. This image beautifully documents a moment of connection and strategy, framed by the unique textures of the analogue process.
