Cloud Study No. 1 – Original Hand-Embroidered Film Photograph
 
The Story Behind the Work
Captured on Vintage Film: The base photograph was shot using a trusty Pentax ME Super a vintage 35mm camera older than I am! The image I used in the work was shot in at Sunset in Colombia.
Expired Film Magic: I use expired film stocks, which give the photographs their lovely, grain, soft colours and unexpected defects due to the film.
Hand-Stitched Detail: Working directly into the paper, I hand-embroider geometric forms across the print. The palette of embroidery threads is directly drawn from the subtle tones hidden within the clouds and sky.
Tactile & One-of-a-Kind: Combining digital and analog techniques, this piece transforms a flat memory into a rich, 3D artwork full of texture.

Shipping details
Each piece is dispatched in a secure cardboard envelope/flat box with a tracked courier service which also includes insurance.
Shipping within the UK is provided by Royal Mail tracked 48 hour service.
Shipping outside of the UK is provided by UPS.
